Creating a second floor within the editor


Quick Steps


  1. Select Your First Floor: Hold Shift and drag your mouse over your plan until everything is highlighted in gold.
  2. Copy the Floor: Press Command + C (Mac) or Control + C (PC).
  3. Switch to the Second Floor: Toggle to Second Floor in the top-right corner.
  4. Paste the Floor Plan: Press Command + V (Mac) or Control + V (PC).
  5. Preserve Position: When prompted, click Preserve Position to keep stairs aligned.



Creating a second floor in Maket allows you to build multi-story designs while keeping everything properly aligned. Follow these steps to duplicate your first floor and modify it as needed.


Step 1: Select Your First Floor


While on the First Floor, hold the Shift key and drag your mouse over the entire plan until everything is highlighted in gold.


Step 2: Copy the Floor Plan


Once selected, press Command + C (Mac) or Control + C (PC) to copy the entire layout. Make sure to use your keyboard keys for copy-pasting!


Step 3: Switch to the Second Floor


Click on Second Floor in the top-right corner of the screen to open a new blank floor.


Step 4: Paste the Floor Plan


Press Command + V (Mac) or Control + V (PC) to paste the copied floor plan.


Step 5: Click "Preserve Position"


A popup will appear—click Preserve Position to ensure the stairs stay aligned with the first floor.


Step 6: Modify the Second Floor


Now that the structure is in place, you can:


  • Adjust walls, rooms, and layout while keeping the staircase intact.

Step 7: View in 3D


Switch to 3D view to confirm that the floors are properly aligned.
