How to change the colour of structural elements

Quick Steps

  1. Drag the element (stairs, door, or window) into your layout
  2. Click the element to select it
  3. Use the left-hand menu to adjust colour or material
  4. Switch to 3D to view the updated changes

You can customize the appearance of key structural elements like stairs, windows, and doors in your plan by changing their color or material.

Step 1: Add the Element to Your Plan

Start by dragging the structural element you want, such as a door, window, or staircase, into your floor plan and place it in your desired location.

Step 2: Select the Element

Once the element is placed, click directly on it in the layout. This will activate the editing panel on the left-hand side of your screen.

Step 3: Change the Colour or Material

The left panel will show customization options depending on the element you've selected:

  • Windows: Customize the frame colour or material
  • Doors: Change the door, frame, and threshold finish
  • Stairs: Adjust the appearance under the treads section

Choose from the available materials or colour swatches to apply your preferred style.

Step 4: View in 3D

To see your changes reflected in real time, switch to 3D view. Structural element colours and materials only display accurately in the 3D preview, so this step is essential to confirm how it looks.

Side Note: Some elements (particularly certain staircase styles) may not currently support colour or material changes. If you don’t see customization options after selecting the element, it may be a fixed-style component.
