The difference between Plan, Image and Project
When you’re getting started with Maket, you’ll notice a few different ways to begin your work: you can click on Plan, Image, or Project. While they may all lead to the same interface, there are some key differences in how your designs are saved and organized.
Let’s break it down:
Starting from Plan or Image
If you click Plan or Image directly from your dashboard (right after logging in), you’ll be taken straight into the design interface. Any plans you generate, edit, and save from here will automatically be stored in your My Drafts folder.
You can always see where your design is being saved by checking the label next to the back arrow in the top-left corner. If it says “My Drafts,” that’s where it’s going.
This is a quick, flexible way to create designs without needing to name or organize them right away — great for experimenting, testing layouts, or exploring new ideas.
Starting from a Project
If you choose to click on Project instead, you’ll first be prompted to enter a project name. Once you do, everything you create — whether it’s a floor plan or an AI-generated image — will be saved under that specific project.
This is especially useful when you want to stay organized. For example, if you're designing multiple homes or spaces for different clients or homes, each one can have its own designated folder of saved designs.
Whenever you save something in a named project, it won’t go to “My Drafts” — it’ll stay neatly stored in its assigned project folder for easier tracking and collaboration.
Which Should You Use?
- Use My Drafts if you're just exploring, testing ideas, or don’t need to stay organized (yet).
- Use Projects if you want structure, are working on multiple homes or clients, or need to keep your designs grouped together.
